About T.L. Moore

T.L. Moore was born in Houston, Texas on June 19th , 1966 to Luis & Margie Moore. Her grandparents H.J. & Betty Hunt helped raise her. She is the oldest of three children and her siblings are Hilton (Bubba) Moore & Tammy Foley. T.L. even as a child would sit in her bedroom and write poems about anyone or anything around her. She would sit there for hours smiling as she looked down at the paper in front of her. It was an escape for her as she lost herself within her own words for hours upon hours. T.L. never really followed her passion of writing until she was in her mid-thirties. Her children were growing older and she found that now in this place and time in her life she could finally follow her heart. T.L. wrote a book that didn’t do to well and she almost walked away from writing for good. She will tell you that because of her first book being such a flop (mostly because of the publisher she had at that time) and no one in the writing field would give her a break...she thought it all was a waste of her time. However, she describes it as a fire burning inside of her that made her continue climbing up that very steep hill to her dreams. “God placed that fire in me and when I wanted to quit, he wouldn’t let me and the more intense the fire became,” T.L. remarked. “I couldn’t give up because God placed that fire in me to write and I knew writing was as much a part of me as breathing was.” After the release of her first book she wrote a children’s book named, “Ed on my shoulder”. At the time she thought it was just another book, nothing special about it...then a little girl with cancer named, Christi Thomas caught her eye on the well-known web site, Myspace. The fire burned even stronger within T.L. and she knew exactly what she was born to do. She wanted somehow, anyway she could to help these children who are facing very big problems in their little lives. The problems could be cancer or abuse or anything a child should not have to deal with at all. “Children are little angels on earth and I want to do anything I can to help them and maybe make a small difference in their lives. Whatever God will allow me to do to help these kids out there who are suffering,” T.L. said. Ten percent of the book sales from the first, “Ed on my shoulder” book will go to M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas. “I am really excited about being able to donate to this awesome hospital and I want to thank them for accepting my application. I know it probably won’t be much money, but who knows what will happen with good ole, “Ed”. Whatever God has planned for me I am ready, willing and able to follow the path he has chosen,” T.L. said as she smiled. “Ed on my shoulder” will be series of books for ages 8- 108. Each book will cover some pretty major issues that a child somewhere in this world is facing right this very moment. Anything from cancer to abuse or a child who is lonely and has no friends. “Ed”, is all for the children of this world and I pray someday I can make a small difference to just one child out there somewhere. That child needs to know they are not alone in whatever they are facing and that Jesus Christ loves them and is always with them. T.L. resides in Pasadena, Texas with her husband and three children and her many pets. She loves to laugh whenever she can and she loves animals, children and life.
